“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love.”
Why “Because of Christ”?
Without Christ we are without hope
(Eph. 2:2-3). Christ came to this earth to live, serve, and ultimately die. However, He didn't stay dead – He rose from the grave. He victoriously conquered sin (Eph. 1:7). Christ provided salvation for all men because all men are born in sin and sin willfully (Eph. 2:1). It is only by His grace that we can be saved from our sin (Eph. 2:4-5). The salvation that Christ provided can only be received by faith. It is a gift that has to be accepted; it can't be earned or achieved (Eph. 2:8-9).
Because of Christ – He gives us a reason to live and serve (Eph. 2:10).
